BREAKING NEWS: PM Officialy Removes Mask and Rapid Test Requirements

PHNOM PENH: Prime Minister Hun Sen announced the removal of mask and rapid test requirements for all major events on the evening of 19 April, 2023. In a special audio message, the Prime Minister stated that after examining the Covid-19 situation in the country after Khmer New Year, he decided to remove the mask and testing mandates which were previously implemented to save lives and alleviate the burden on doctors.

"[In the past], these measures improved the Covid-19 situation in our country," he said.

The Prime Minister called it a New Year’s gift to the people after Cambodia for winning the battle against Covid-19 in 2023. He thanked all the people who joined the government in the successful fight against the pandemic. However, the PM urged people to continue to monitor their health and do a rapid test whenever there is a suspicion of a Covid-19 infection.
